Make It Fit Feature - Pete

Late last year, my co-workers and I did a 10 week Transformation Challenge. We were able to transform our body the way we wanted to, either by losing weight or putting on muscle. No restrictions on the competition. Everyone did their own thing in terms of nutrition and exercise. At the end, before and after pictures were revealed to the rest of the break room and they voted for who they thought had the best transformation.

This was our eventual winner, Pete. He received 90% of the votes with his transformation. And by the pictures below you could see why. I think it's great how he knew what changes he needed to make for his nutrition and exercise himself and then executed them.

Here's a Q&A about the his transformation.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Well, I’m Pete. I’m a 34 year old single father of 9 year old daughter.  When I’m not busy with work or hanging with my gf and my daughter. I like to play video games build with LEGO, practice bass guitar, and ride my bike on trails.

What was your diet and fitness level (did you exercise?)  before to transformation challenge?

So my fitness level before the challenge was ok.  I would go to the gym at least 3 times a week that included running and doing weights.

Why did you decide to do the challenge?

I decided to do the challenge because I thought it would help me push a little harder.  And get better results then I was currently getting, added motivation.

What changes did you make once the challenge started? And how did you make it fit?

So when I started I made the most change to my diet.   Actually eating properly.  Portioned meals and basically just made them fit into my schedule, including adding breakfast and healthy snacks.  I started hitting the gym 4-5 times a week.

   What didn't change?

Weekends did not change for me those were my relax. One of the meals, on either day, was out of my diet.

Since the challenge ended, what's your diet and fitness level been like? (Stay the same, altered?)

Since the challenge ended I’ve kept up with some of my diet. Make sure to not skip breakfast and have healthy snacks.  And proper portions . Though I need to work on finding different meals to switch it up.  Going to the gym went to 3-5 times a week.  Just kind of lost motivation when the holidays hit lol.  But now it’s getting warmer out I’m trying to get back into it.

What advice would you give to the average person in terms of making it fit into their lifestyle?

My advice on making the changes to your lifestyle (Make It Fit), would be to make changes to your diet, but still have a cheat here and there or you’ll just give up on the diet.
Also, find something or someone to help motivate you, to challenge yourself into hitting the gym more consistently and making changes to your diet
